CS2 activation servers' shutdown: Adobe Audition 3, with some other CS2 products, was released with an official serial number, due to the technical glitch in Adobe's CS2 activation servers (see Creative Suite 1 & 2). Version 4 (CS5.5) Audition 4, also known as Audition CS5.5, was released on April 11, 2011, as part of Adobe Creative Suite.
This is initiative is very surprising, coming from Adobe. At the latter end of 2012, Adobe ended official support for registered products from the CS2 line launched in 2005. So, users that legitimately had obtained the software no longer could register it with the original license keys. To correct the problem, Adobe has provided these customers with download links to its entire product line, as well as a unique serial number so they can keep their product registered.
The “problem” with this is that any user, whether they actually have these Adobe products or not, can download and activate entirely for free any of their available products, which is why on the official forums they are asking consumers to be honest. Another thing to keep in mind is that some of the programs aren’t 100% compatible with certain modern operating systems, which is why some may experience problems when trying to install them on Windows 8.
